Re-Claiming our Room!
We are so incredibly blessed to have a space of our own in the church. A room that we can utilize to share time together in praise, prayer, learning, and sharing, worshipping the God who we love.
I am excited to say that we're painting the room on Thursday, and hopefully in only a few short weeks from now will be in our room, using it together.
So young adults, come this week to the church at 7pm with your painting garb on! See you there!

How to be awesome, and get dessert too!
So I know I said we were going to start this week with carpet, etc., but for a number of reasons we are going to hold up, then next week it will be ALLLL hands on deck!!! And we'll go nuts laying carpet and painting our room!
So we are not meeting at the church next week, but definitely are next week!
Lastly….we have a chance to get some free dessert!! What could be better? Not much. As you may be aware, the church is having a "Guess who's coming for dessert?" night. Basically everyone in the church signs up for this thing and everyone is assigned an address to go to or amount of guests they'll be serving, and no one knows who they'll be having dessert with until they show up! Like I said on Sunday, it has potential to be uncomfortable, yes, but also to be totally awesome. So embrace the awkward.
All you have to do is sign up this Sunday at the info desk. You can sign up alongside a friend/significant other so you know you won't be going totally alone. I also talked to the person who is going to be arranging who goes to whose homes, and she asked if it was a good idea to pair up any young adults who sign up on their own with someone else in young adults- I said yes. So you can rest assured that there will be at least one familiar face!
I think that's everything for now.
Later!

We're crossing our fingers that carpet is delivered to the church this week so that we can start laying it on Thursday. So stay tuned for an update and an email about meeting this week.I am also excited to say that we're going to begin painting the Young Adults room very very soon...so stay tuned for that info also!
Currently, we are looking for a coat rack to go in the young adults room. Any coat rack will do. If you know where we can find one, or have one you'd like to give to us, please shoot me an email. Thanks!
That's all for now!

Finally an update!!
We just had our Hemlock trip last weekend, which was really awesome. Please ask us about it, as I don't have a lot of time to type details now. Let me give you a few words that would sum up the weekend.
Learning, Improvising, Collaborating, Celebrating, Enjoying, and...POWDER!!
I can honestly say that it was my favourite young adults event that I've planned to date. And I've planned a few :)
From this point on, I believe we're going to be meeting to do some work on the church building, and in a while will be meeting to do a regular bible study together. So stay tuned, or email me if you have questions!

Christmas Happenings!
It's December! Almost Christmas, almost the end of school…so many things to be excited about. But most of all, get excited for this Thursday, because we're BACON at Rachel Wiens' house!
Ok, so there won't actually be bacon. But we're baking. Or if you're Jamaican, we're bacon.
Now guys, before you stop reading this, please note- you must come also/especially. Couple reasons.
1) Guys can bake. I have eaten many a delicious thing made by none other than Blair Pollard. Enough said.
2) If you don't want to bake, you can put icing on stuff. It's the fun part anyway.
3) If you're too good for it, or if it's just really not something that you want to do, then come to eat the works of the wonderful brave men and women who baked. And to hang out with other non-bakers (although I know that you really wanna ice some stuff, don't ya?)
So come one, come all. If you're in the middle of exam crunch time, write this date down and take a couple hours on Thursday to rest your brain and fuel up with sugar cookies and gingerbread. It's going to be a really good time.
Now, Rachel is being really awesome and buying ingredients for us so we can make the gingerbread and sugar cookies, so please please remember to bring a toonie, maybe even three bucks to help cover the cost. You'll be able to bring a few cookies home with you, so between the good time and the wonderful treats you can use to bribe your profs, parents, girlfriend, boss, whoever….it'll be totally worth it. Remember the cash!
Also, stay tuned for info about a pre-Christmas hang out and hot tub event at Katelyn's place!
